Somewhere between now and then,
Between the breaths of agony and joy—
Where the blood of the living begs for more time
Somewhere, where black dahlias rise to the sun
And chaos triumphs, with sharp teeth around the earth 
Death fell in love—
Limitless, in the realm of all things ungodly
It was a love greater than the bounds of time,
An anomaly, like a lion showing mercy
Like bats convalescing toward the sun—
Something forbidden by laws higher than God
Could such a thing be forgiven?
